Message from the President

Leininger Cabinet & Woodworking

Kent Gilchrist

Welcome to the AWI – Ohio Valley Chapter eNewsletter, The Cutting Edge. This publication will be sent quarterly to all our members as well as other affiliated parties. It is our intent to better our industry as a whole, educating others why AWI members are better trained and skilled within the Architectural Woodwork Industry.

We have a very dynamic and active chapter. I’d like to take a moment and personally thank our newest supplier members: Accessa Coatings and Microvellum and our newest manufacturing member: Kentucky Mill and Casework. It is only through our collective efforts, that we can continue to make a difference within our industry – raising the bar and increasing the level of performance.

Fremont Interiors Awarded Contract for the Indiana Governor’s Residence
Fremont Interiors was selected by the State of Indiana as the custom cabinetry provider during the remodel of the Governor’s Residence. Since its last remodel in the 1970’s, Fremont Interiors was charged with restoring the residence to its former grandeur by designing and fabricating timeless traditional cabinetry for the Main House Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry as well as the Guest House Kitchen. A special note of thanks to other chapter members who provided materials for the project: Courter Company, Distributor Service, Inc., and Flexible Materials. The project began in June 2005 and was just completed in August 2006.
