FM-200® fire suppression systems are the most trusted replacement agent for Halon 1301.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency states, "HF-C227ea (FM-200®) does not deplete stratospheric ozone. In addition, HF-C227ea is the most effective of the proposed HFC substitutes for Halon 1301."

FM-200® is so safe it has been approved for use as a designated replacement for CFC propellants in pharmaceutical metered dose inhalers like the ones used to dispense asthma medications.

The New NFPA-13, 2002 edition has major revisions that display the new NFPA Manual of Style Formatting. Also, the Technical Committees did a good job of "fixing" some items, which needed fixing. The following are some helpful changes to look for:

If you are involved with Automotive Bumpers and Dashboards, and Group A plastics in portable racks, then NFPA-13, 2002 Edition, has new criteria that may prove helpful. Plastic automotive components and associated packaging material to be protected in accordance with Table 12.7.1.
