What do architects, building inspectors, engineers, facility managers, fire fighters and property managers have in common? They all need training – essential training related to reducing risk, protecting property, insuring safety, and saving lives.

At the Technical Education Center (TECenter), we specialize in fire protection training and risk management. Through our live burn room and a wide array of fully operational water and chemical-based suppression systems, students acquire the most current and up-to-date training available within the industry.

"Chief!" No, we're not talking about what Jimmy Olsen calls Perry White in the Adventures of Superman. The chief we're referring to is the "Chief" of Tribal Knowledge. The tribal chief is reminiscent of a crusty, salty, rough-around-the-edges curmudgeon who knows everything about everything - or at least so it seems! There are three critical problems with tribal knowledge 1) it's not written down; 2) it's not always current; and 3) it's been passed down from generation to generation.

As an IACET Authorized Provider, the Technical Education Center (TECenter) is an integral component to our hands-on, training and development program. The TECenter displays fully operational water based and chemical based systems from leading fire equipment manufacturers. In addition to the operational systems, TECenter is equipped with a live burn room, which demonstrates how fires are detected and extinguished.

As an IACET (International Association for Continuing Education and Training) Authorized Provider, the TECenter’s sophisticated training programs integrate both hands-on experience and classroom education critical to the learning process.

IACET has a rich history of promoting educational quality. Created in 1968, IACET's Criteria and Guidelines for Quality Continuing Education and Training Programs ("IACET Criteria and Guidelines") are the standards by which hundreds of organizations measure their educational offerings.
