Quarterly Training Workshop Held
This quarter's FlashPoint 101 Workshop was held on October 12, 2007. This quarter’s focus was on alternative fire extinguishing systems with featured guest speaker, Mr. Bill Varone of Chemgard, presenting on Foam Basics 101.
The remainder of the workshop touched on other common types of alternative fire extinguishing systems including low and high pressure carbon dioxide and clean agent suppression systems. We discussed the inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements for each type of alternative fire extinguishing system. The highlight of the workshop was a live fire demonstration of an FM-200 clean agent extinguishing system in the FlashPoint Center’s burn room.
FlashPoint 100 Series courses and workshops are typically 2-3 hours in length and are provided at little to no cost. Attendance is restricted to USAutomatic Sprinker clientele and/or invited guests.
