“As of June 6, 2006, all new fire protection system installations or modifications to existing fire protection systems in the Town of Avon require a local Fire Protection Permit. For purposes of this ordinance, fire protection systems include any fire detection or fire suppression system, i.e., automatic fire sprinkler systems, manual or automatic fire alarm systems, kitchen hood fire suppression systems, special hazard fire suppression systems. All permits are issued directly through the Washington Township/Avon Fire Department as an agent of the town. |

This permit process enables the local fire department to review construction plans, release projects for installation, and witness initial acceptance testing of systems. Permits must be obtained prior to the start of system installation. All permit applications will be processed within 30 days of submittal. Currently, there is no fee established for this permit process. Contractors found working without a permit may be issued a stop work order and subject to applicable fines.” |
